How to Back Up Your Files

Regular backups protect your data in case of hardware failure. Here's how to back up your files:

  1. Open File Explorer and locate the files or folders you want to back up.
  2. Right-click the files and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder for easy storage.
  3. Move the zipped folder to an external hard drive, cloud storage (e.g., OneDrive), or network storage.
  4. Schedule regular backups through the Backup settings in your operating system to automatically protect your files.

Additional Options:

  • Use Windows Backup or a third-party backup solution for more comprehensive backups, including system images and application data.
  • IT support can assist with setting up automated backup solutions for your entire workstation.
